All 1,000 buffaloes and calves need to be transported from the Farm in Brotas to the new location. It is urgent that the transportation be done as soon as possible, both due to the precarious conditions of the farm and the determination of the Justice.

About this rescue
At the end of 2021, a farmer abandoned more than 1000 buffaloes in the city of Brotas, without water and food, with many of the females pregnant. The case gained worldwide attention.
The animals were under the care of the ARA NGO for two years, but on October 27, 2023, the justice system removed the NGO from the care of the animals.
Two NGOs volunteered to take them in, and since November 13, 2023, the Vale da Rainha Sanctuary and the Rancho dos Gnomos are responsible for the animals, who need to be removed from the farm as soon as possible.
